About this module

This Healthcare Practitioner Toolkit provides online learning with easy navigation to practice-based tools and resources to optimise access to and experiences of cervical screening for patients with intellectual disability. It includes resources to support informed decision-making including the choice of either a self-collected vaginal sample (which can be assisted by a clinician if preferred and requested), or a clinician-collected sample from the cervix using a speculum. The information in this Toolkit is based on the National Cervical Screening Guidelines.

The Toolkit has been developed by the ScreenEQUAL research collaboration between the faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney, Family Planning Australia, Western Sydney University and The University of New South Wales. ScreenEQUAL is a 3-year co-design study aiming to increase participation by people with intellectual disability in the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP). The study has also co-produced a suite of resources for people with intellectual disability and supporting materials for families and support people.

This course will take approximately 30 mins to complete.  You can pick up where you left at any time.
